Earthrise Intern Venture

Find your place on the planet, dig in, and take responsibility there. — Gary Snyder

Digging In ...

We welcome those who would like to learn more about sustainable agriculture, combining intellectual knowledge, hands-on experience and good hard work. An internship at Earthrise offers the opportunity to explore:

  • Simple and holistic living
  • Garden and farm planning
  • Organic food production
  • Greenhouse operation
  • Soils and fertility
  • Composting
  • Marketing
  • Educational programming with local schools
  • Food preservation and canning
  • Cooking and baking
  • Poultry tending

Interns will take part in field trips to area farms and local organizations to gain a deeper connection to the community surrounding the farm. This area has a rich diversity of sustainable farming practices as well as progressive environmental philosophies which add value to our community. As part of the experience we ask that each intern develop a project of his/her own that will be presented to the community at the close of the season.
